Micromax to forge into Russian and Eastern European market

 

Micromax has been extremely successful in India and is all set to overtake Samsung as the No 1 smartphone manufacturer in India.
Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma unveiled his plans about overseas markets.
He said

Our end goal is to go global as an Indian hardware brand. I do not want to be seen as an Indian company anymore. We have tested waters in markets such as Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and we are among the top three phone brands in both the markets.

We are launching in Russia in December and if I am able to crack Russia, we will also able to capture the whole (of) Europe. We have a couple of products especially for that market, and Google doesn’t work there so we have tied up with Yandex on the application level.

Rahul Sharma also said that they are looking to acquire a software company.He said

The next war will be in software and not hardware. Some massive thing will happen from our side on software. We are already in a lookout for software companies and as and when we find one that fits with the organization, we will do it.

Micromax Canvas Turbo A250 launched for Rs.19,990

Micromax has officially launched Canvas Turbo aka A250 today for Rs. 19,990. The samartphone has caused lot of hype recently due to multiple leaks and teases and also 'Hugh Jackman'. It is the first smartphone from Micromax that comes with full HD display.

Micromax Canvas Turbo has got 1.5 Ghz quad-core MediaTek processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM. The phone boasts of its vivid 1080p full HD CGS
(Continuous Grain Silicon) screen that comes with NM2 (new mode 2) wide angle technology helps you view the vivid display from any angle, even in broad daylight. The internal storage is 16 GB and battery capacity is 2000 mAh ( I wish it was more!). Micro-sd card slot absent.

Canvas Turbo A250 has a 13 MP rear camera (Sony sensor) along with 5MP front camera and a new app called Camerazzi which lets you capture 360 degree panorama image and also make gif files, remove unwanted elements from photos and click brilliant, perfectly exposed photos.

 The phone has got a full adonised aluminium built which is just 8.66 mm thick and runs Android 4.2 Jellybean The phone's applications and software can be downloaded over the air that means, no need to go to service centers for updating the device.

This device comes with intuitive gesture controls (less tapping and pressing). To unlock the phone just wave your hand over it and of-course 'Blow to Unlock' and other gestures that were present in Canvas 4 are also present. Video pinning feature is also present.
Canvas Turbo also has a Multi Video View with the help of which you can watch two videos simultaneously.

Another new feature in ifloat which is an assistive touch button remains on-screen all the time and lets you  handle calls and sms, browse the net, and view multimedia files while simultaneously using any application!

Pre-loaded apps on include Spuul, Game Hub, Music Hub, BBM, Hike Messenger, Opera Mini and Kingsoft Office.

Micromax canvas turbo launched with a price tag of 19990/- Rs , 2 GB RAM and Other goodies

Micromax canvas turbo is out now. The long wait with lot of rumours and guesses comes to an end now. Micromax has launched Canvas turbo A 250 with a price tag of 19,990/- Rs from there Micromax store.They announced the same from there dedicated website for Canvas turbo : www.canvasturbo.com .
Canvas turbo is packed with 5inch Full HD display and has 1.5 Ghz quadcore Media tek 6589 T chipset. Price of the device seems a bit high but can expect it to get some cut in shorter time frame. Canvas Turbo has aluminium unibody design with no access to back cover.

Canvas Turbo has 2 GB of RAM and as we predicted , there is no extra SD card slot. 16 GB memory is not enough for most of the people with 2GB RAM , they always expect to carry more when you have 2 GB of RAM.

Camera of the device is 13MP shooter which can Record videos in Full HD that is 1920*1080 pixels. Front facing is a 5 MP snapper. Device is capable of playing FULL HD videos too. so, no matter what the format and size you offer , Canvas Turbo can play all.
Camera is equipped with Object remover , 360 degree panorama and video editing software's.

Battery of the device is same 2000mAh which seems not enough when it comes to good usage. We were expecting some bigger powerhood but have to manage with this only.

Micromax Canvas Magnus A117, which has not been officially announced yet is available online at Snapdeal.com for Rs.14,999. The device has a 5-inch IPS display and runs Android 4.2.1 Jellybean. Also present is 1 GB RAM and 2000mAh battery.
But as rumoured earlier by MMXnewscaster this phone does not have a 5MP front facing camera by just 2 MP.

Micromax Canvas Magnus A117 Official pic leaked

Official press image of Micromax Canvas Magnus A117, the younger brother of Canvas Turbo has been leaked thanks to MMXnewscaster. The official specs and boot animation of Canvas Magnus were leaked earlier.


This smartphone will be having 1.5 Ghz MediaTek MT6589 processor, similar to Canvas Turbo but will have a 720p ( rumored 5 inch ) display and will be running Android 4.2.1 JellyBean.
Other expected specifications include 12MP rear and  5 MP front camera, 2000 mAh battery, 4 GB internal memory and 1 GB RAM.

Canvas Magnus looks quite stylish and sleek with its design language quite similar to Canvas Doodle 2.

Micromax Canvas Magnus A 117 - Image and specification leaked

Amidst the Launch of  much hyped Micromax Canvas Turbo A 250 , here comes one more participant from Micromax for the festive season. This entrant is known as Micromax Canvas Magnus A 117. MMXNewscaster has published the image Canvas Magnus with the specification. Although there is no information on the price point. Canvas Magnus comes in the same theme of 5Inchers. Device has 5 Inch of capacitive display with 1280*720 resolution which is same with Canvas HD. Device is running on Android Jelly bean 4.2 and we can expect to get the 4.3 update or might be KitKat release also. Device is powered with 1.5 Ghz Quadcore processor with unknown GPU. This device might be running with MediaTek 6589T chipset which is rumoured to power Canvas Turbo also.

Canvas Magnus has 1GB RAM and 4 GB Inbuilt memory with 32 GB expandable memory slot. In terms of looks , Magnus share the similarities with Canvas Doodle 2 which also has same kinda back.
Primary Camera of the device is 12MP with LED flash where as front facing is 5 MP. It seems, Micromax is using the same cameras that they used in Canvas Doodle 2. Battery of the device is 2000mAh which is same that power all canvas series devices except The Doodle 2 which has 2600mAh. Other connectivity options include GPS , Bluetooth , Wifi ,3.5 mm audio jack.
There is no information on the price and the date of launch. Canvas Magnus fits between Canvas HD and Canvas 4 as the device has same configuration that Micromax Canvas HD has but has an edge over Camera over cameras with 12 MP and 5MP in comparison to 8MP and 3.2 MP. It got bigger processor but has same RAM ,ROM and battery. In terms of comparison with Canvas 4 , it lags in terms of Sony BSI sensor enabled 13 MP primary camera and 16GB ROM. we cant leave the full aluminium body of Canvas 4 also.

Micromax should fill the gap between Canvas HD and Canvas 4 and should price it around 14-15 k which can attract more potential buyer.

Configurations and expectations from Micromax canvas Turbo

Rumours are on top high because of Hugh Jackman , Full HD display and flagship from the Micromax who are famous for creating lot of buzz from there latest offering. This time , they came up with Micromax Canvas Turbo A 250 which will be company's first Full HD display device. People are expecting a lot but only time and Micromax can reveal what all will be in final package. Hugh Jackman is not an easy deal to bring under the table that says, something big is cooking. Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 is the costliest of there all offerings with the price tag of around 18K-19K. Indian people know Micromax for there value to money handsets not for giving premium finish, where as on other hand we expect a good looking device but are not ready to pay , the reason is country's own brand. We believe , if Micromax team will launch Micromax Canvas Turbo taking price into consideration , they can achieve more.

lets see , what people are expecting from this device :

 Display :  From leaked sources and code base , it is confirmed that Canvas Turbo will come with 1920*1080 pixel resolution. Screen size will be 5Inch that means 440+ PPI. The display will be a charm to look into.

Operating system : Google is ready with 4.4 KitKat release. We can expect Canvas Turbo to come preloaded. If not preloaded than at least FOTA support for the same.

 Anything less than that will fade the shine of the Canvas Turbo.

 Processor and Memory : Code base revealed that Canvas Turbo is running on 1.5 GHZ quad core MediaTek 6589T Chip set with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU. We are still in doubt , reason is Mediatek's true Octa core processor. Mediatek recently launched there Octacore processor and Micromax is the one who are first in attempting new things and are the first to bring Mediatek in Indian market. This doubt will be cleared once the final specifications will be unveils.

 Device is supposed to be of 1GB RAM with 32 GB inbuilt memory.

 Camera : This field , we have a big expectation. Micromax Posted in Facebook wall and shown some indication for major software upgradation in terms of Camera. There post says of a feature which allows users to remove unwanted objects from the pics without distorting image. This feature we have seen in HTC one with named as HTC Zoe.

 HTC zoe has other features also which include taking prior pics before clicking , showing few seconds clips for video as a previews , Slow motion recording and more.

 We are not sure of all these features but can expect good upgradation here. Primary camera is supposed to be 13 MP with no specified sensor. Micromax already given 13MP camera with Sony BSI sensor in Canvas 4 which impressed users with its clicking capabilities.

 Many devices in market are already running on Sony BSI sensor 2 so, we can expect BSI sensor 2 here also.

 Front camera if of 5 MP and is shown in sketch image also. we believe both cameras can create videos in Full HD format so, that Canvas Turbo users can view all in full HD.

 Looks and feel : This is a very confusing topic for Indian market. People want good looks, metallic body ,slim devices but don't want to pay for Indian manufacturers. Indian users can pay 25K or more for brands which come from outside but cant pay even close to 20K for such built quality by Indian manufacturers.

So, We expect a decent build quality but that should not exceed the price more.

Canvas Turbo will come with Aluminium body that can be uni-body. From the pics , both the SIM card slots are on sides of Handset so, might be there will be no expandable memory. 

Battery and connectivity option : Battery of the Canvas Turbo is still unknown.Full HD screen uses more juice so, Micromax has to give Powerhouse to this handset. 3000mAh will be a good one.

In terms of connectivity GPS , micro USB 2.0 , Bluthooth version 4 , wifi are expected at least.

we have seen many devices with NFC capabilities and Infra red option to use your device as Remote. NFC is a feature which an Indian customer hardly uses and there is no point to give such feature to only increase the price value. where as Infra red capability can be of great use.

Price : coming to the final point that is Price of the device. Canvas 4 is a good build handset with many new features like pause and play , blow air to unlock , multi window but is priced a bit high. If the device would be under 15k-16K , we belive it would have done much better.

For Micromax Canvas Turbo , price of 15k or around would be a decent one. More than this will create doubt in mind whether to go for Canvas turbo or to add some more bucks and go for Samsung or Sony devices.

Well, this all are our expectation and assumptions. Ball is in Micromax's court ,let see whether Canvas Turbo will shake the market or will be just an average selling device.

In past few days we all witnessed many things like first FHD device in the shape of Micromax Canvas Turbo with full of goodies , Hugh Jackman as the brand ambassador for Micromax , New commercial with Hugh Jackman, New dedicated website for Canvas Turbo. Micromax is trying all to maintain the curiosity along with the user interaction with there latest offering. Yesterday, we seen there post in Facebook that shows some major camera enhancements and now, they have posted the snap of primary camera on there facebook page. Although the pic has no information on MP but MMXNewscaster has revealed another pic on there twitter page that speaks of 13MP snapper with secondary mic for better audio while creating videos.

One thing we can really appreciate about Micromax is there focus on build quality. They are continuously using Metal in there devices which makes devices looks premium and sturdy. Micromax Canvas Turbo is no exception. The shiny curves shows the metal work with lines and edges to make it look really premium.



From the above pic , it seems Canvas Turbo will have non removable battery cover which gives us hint of no expansion slot as from the sketch we have seen both SIM slot at the sides so, this device can come with 16 or 32 GB inbuilt memory. 16GB is good memory to have but many people feel they need more space, taking that consideration , 32GB as internal will be good enough.

Have you seen the latest upload from Micromax on their Facebook page ? Its stating "There's always 'that' guy in the picture " , this hints us the camera enhancements done for Micromax Canvas Turbo. Earlier Micromax officials had said in an interview that they are focusing more on the Software upgradation than the Hardware. This new promotion is indicating the same. After introducing 5 Inch FHD display and 5MP front facing camera now its turn for some serious software capabilities. Micromax Canvas Turbo may have some Camera functionality that is similar to HTC's flagship device camera feature name as Zoe mode. Zoe mode has a special feature that automatically detect the unwanted object in your picture and gives you option to remove those without downgrading or leaving any effect on your picture.

 We feel Micromax has equipped there latest upcoming device Canvas Turbo with this functionality. From the Facebook post , it is clear that Unwanted object removal feature will be there in picture but have to check the preview or best selection mode features are added or not.


To remind you all that as per news , Canvas Turbo will house a 13MP auto focus primary camera with LED flash and can shoot videos in Full HD resolution. We are expecting to get the same or even better Sony BSI sensor for beautiful pics and videos that we have seen in Micromax canvas 4. Other features include a 1.5GHz quadcore Mediatek 6589T chipset with PowerVR GPU , Jelly bean operating system , 1GB RAM , 16 GB inbuilt , Metallic body and good looks.

After the new dedicated Website and appointing New brand ambassador Hugh Jackman for there latest Micromax Canvas Turbo , here comes the sketch of Canvas Turbo. MMX Newscaster has posted the sketch of Micromax Canvas Turbo in there latest Tweet. Canvas turbo resembles with Apple 5 in looks because of more in length in comparison to width. Device has 5MP front facing camera with micro USB at top and 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom. Turbo has dual SIM card slot and placed at left side that simply means you dont have to pull off the battery and than insert SIM card , this gives us a hint of non removable back cover. There is no extra slot mentioned in Turbo for Micro SD card also which can mean device has fixed 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage.

From the sketch , few things are clear now, like Full HD display , 5MP front facing camera.
Popular online retailer Saholic has listed the device with the price tag of 9999/- Rs only but later they removed the price tag and mentioned as coming soon. They have listed the complete features which include FHD display , 1 GB RAM , 1.5 Ghz Quadcore 6589T chipset , PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU, 16GB inbuilt , 32 GB expnadable , 13 MP back camera with FHD recording. Canvas turbo will be running on jelly bean 4.2.

there is no information on the battery capacity but we can expect it to be a bigger one to last longer with FHD display.
As per rumours , if the Canvas turbo with above specification will come with a price tag of 10K or near than this will be a steal. There is no device in market with FHD and price less than 14k or 15K so, considering that if Micromax will be able to do that than what else Indian people can expect more this Diwali.

Micromax has signed Hugh Jackman "The Wolverine" of Hollywood as a new face for Micromax Canvas Turbo. There is no comments on existing Brand Ambassador the Akshay "Khiladi" Kumar  but we believe , he will continue to endorse the Micromax who has associated with him since the beginning. 1. Download Bin4ry rooting toolkit from here [Link] and extract Bin4ry’s rooting tool to your PC. Then connect your Canvas 2 to the computer.  Open the folder and run “runme” file. You may see a command box after opening the file. Type “1″ to go for Normal mode.


2. Dont forget to change the USB mode  to Media device for phone detection. You can also use PDANet to install necessary Micromax drivers.


3. Follow the instructions and let the phone to restart after copying the shell files.


4. Got root after restart? After successful rooting, you may get notification by saying “Have Fun!”. I hope you got the fun. To confirm, check the menu and look if superuser app has installed.

Install CWM Recovery
