There is no information on devices which are in list for this upgradation. Important thing to keep in mind is upgrade procedure. Last time the jelly bean upgrade for Canvas 2 was very hectic as there was no OTA support and people have to upgrade by their own or have to visit service centre. Here the situation is some what changed as Canvas Doodle 2 and Canvas 4 has OTA support but have to figure out the way for Canvas HD.

Android KitKat 5.0 is already in news from a long , upgrade to 4.3 for these Micromax devices has shown much potential to receive 5.0 also. Lets wait and see which all devices will get 4.3 and which will receive 5.0 KitKat.

Canvas Tab P650 out in Market with price tag of 16500 Rs

Micromax's presence in TAB category is not unknown. Micromax is one of the biggest leader in Tab category as per Market share. They have a whole FUN BOOK series. Extending the same , Micromax came with a Brand new Canvas TAB P650. Canvas TAB inherits all the features from there parent Canvas series with bigger screen size to make it fit into the Tab category.
Canvas Tab has a big 8Inch 5 point multi-touch Capacitive touch screen  with 1024*768 HD resolution. Canvas tab runs on latest 4.1.2 jelly bean operating system straight out of the box. Device runs on 1.2 Ghz Quadcore Mediatek MT8389 chipset. Canvas Tab is equipped with play and pause feature that we have seen in Canvas 4 and Doodle 2 also. Canvas Tab has pinning feature also that can resize a browser or video play into your convenient size and allow you to do multitasking along with the pinned item.

Built quality seems impressive with full aluminium uni body. The battery under the hood is 4800mAh that is rated to deliver 10 hrs of talktime and 400 hours of standby. Video playback and browsing strength will be unveiled once the device is out in market.

Primary camera of the device is 5MP Autofocus with NO Flash . Primary camera is capable of recording video in HD resolution. there is a front facing camera with 2MP resolution and is capable of 640*480 video record capabilities. Device can play upto 1920*1088 Full HD videos.

RAM of the device is 1 GB DDR3 where as ROM is 16GB. further storage can be achieved by adding 32 GB micro SD card slot. Total of 11.07 GB of internal storage is user accessible and 1.73 GB is available for application installation.
Canvas Tab supports 3g via SIM card and is capable of calling facility also. Device has Blutooth , GPS , WiFi and other standard connectivity options.
One major change need to be notice and that is Single SIM support. Yes, this device do not have dual SIM card slot.

Price of the device is 16500/- Rs. Price may seems high because Samsung Galaxy tab2 with calling facility can be bought with in 16k in market which has good looks ,features and Samsung brand. But the device here is no less in comparison and can beat samsung galaxy tab2 with its features and configurations.

Final call will be from Users who will decide the usefulness of Canvas Tab P 650 in real world.

Micromax Bolt A 40

It seems Micromax has planned to relaunch new Handsets in all its category that were launched in past.
Recently we have seen a whole new series Canvas FUN series that were designed considering Fun and Entertainment and youth. Now, they are back with there BOLT series. Micromax has unrevealed BOLT A 40.As the name suggests , BOLT category devices are low budget handsets and the highest priced Bolt A67 comes with a price tag of 6K. From the previous launches , Micromax has confirmed that Design is one of the primary goal along with the software modifications. From this device also, we get the same feel. Device is well built and is not a cheap plastic only. Camera position is moved from the upper central to upper left and back cover is made of two parts rather than a plastic single back cover. Overall the design seems impressive.

Bolt A 40 has a 4.5 Inch capacitive touch screen with the resolution of 480*854 pixels. Major setback is in terms of Operating system. All recent devices launched are running on jelly bean or atleast Ice cream sandwich but this device is running on 2.3.5 Gingerbread. We are not sure of what factors comes in path that restricted them to give atleast a 4.0 Ice cream sandwich. Bolt A 40 comes with 1Ghz of Spreadtrum SC6820 processor. This is very rare to find a Micromax device running on some different chipset. Benchmark performance and other checks will identify the true power of this chipset.  RAM of device is 512 MB which is OK but the ROM is also 512 MB that is something people will not going to appreciate. 512 MB ROM might seems justifying with the old operating system which has not so heavy graphics games.

Primary camera of the device is 2 MP with flash , we can not expect very good quality snaps here. Front has a 0.3 MP camera for video chats. There is NO AUTO focus and can record video up to 640*480 resolution.
Internal storage for app installation is only 64 MB. Further memory can be expanded via 32GB sd card.

Handset is a dual GSM SIM support and comes with all basic connectivity features like bluethooth , wifi,  gps and many more.
Battery of the device is 1500mAh and is rated to give 4.5 hours of talktime and 175 hours of standby.

price of the device is unknown but as a BOLT category phone , we can expect it to be around 5k. More than that will create many problems in sale as other factors will start coming into picture other than Build quality only.

Micromax Canvas EGO A 113 - First impression

Recently IDC has published their report on Smart phone market share in India and Micromax has maintained its position and jumped from 18.8% share to 22% in the last quarter. Micromax official's are confident on there growth rate and are working hard to be 1 in Indian market. Well, that time will explain but what we can not define is the rate in which Micromax is launching its new and new Handsets. After the Official launch of Canvas Fun A 76 and Canvas Fun A 63 , now here is Micromax Canvas EGO A113. However the company has not listed this handset in their website but online shopping giant Snapdeal has this in there bucket. Canvas EGO A113 is a mid range handset with decent specifications. We can not say , it has something remarkable but is not under the shadow also. Canvas EGO sports a 4.7 Inch Capactive touch display with Unknown resolution. With the price tag provided of  12999/- Rs , we can expect a HD display. If the display is a HD one , surely the device ppi will be higher than its any of the Canvas predecessors.Canvas EGO has the same canvas series 1.2 Ghz Quadcore processor powered by Mediatek 6589.Canvas EGO comes with 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB ROM. further extension of memory is possible via external SD card.
Canvas Ego comes with a 8 MP primary camera with LED flash. There is no information about the front facing but we can expect it to be atleast a 2MP snapper with good recording capabilities.Canvas EGO runs on Jelly bean 4.1.2 operating system.
After producing value for money handsets , it seems Micromax has focussed more on the build quality. Till now, we know micromax for their low prices and low built handsets but this seems to be a unibody design with some black/grey rubberised finish.

Battery of the Canvas Ego A 113 is same 2000mAh but may last longer because of slightly smaller screen.

We have done a comparison between the Canvas 2Q , Canvas A116 HD and Canvas Ego A113. Here are the feedbacks :

From the above comparison , it seems Canvas Ego has nothing extra ordinary but definitely got some good build quality. The price mentioned is a bit high and can drop to about 10k or 10.5k and that will be a good buy out option.
